Finally, etched in stone!

OUR NEW TERRACE……

After much deliberation over many months we eventually  decided on Turkish Stone as the finish for the new terrace of La Maison Cèdre and of course after seeing the many options available it was predictably the first thing we saw when we started looking.

So 6 pallets containing 93 square metres of stone and 50 bags of fixing duly arrived in Prayssac last week…..thank goodness for a sizeable garden.

Since then we have lost one of our two ponds, chased the elusive fish with a giant net they avoided with ease, and done our best to evict the resident frogs. If they had all known that just a few hours later they would be covered in concrete they might have shown a little more enthusiasm for relocation!

Amazing progress has been made by Mr DeF in the 3 days since with the damaged tiles removed and the surface extended and prepared for the first stone to be laid.

Creating a Chambre d’hôte is no easy task and the work here appears to be never ending but every day brings tangible progress with the light at the end of the tunnel a little brighter.

Huge thanks to our great friends who have flown, and even driven from southern Spain, in order to test various DIY skills and pick up a paint brush….and I thought we were the mad ones!

Our thanks also go to everyone who has been, and still is involved in our ‘Project Prayssac’. You all know who you are and we are grateful for your help.

PS…..Just in case you were wondering; all fish were removed from the pond in the nick of time and now have a new home and many new friends!
